Salmon Run Campground was born from a simple conviction: that the best way to experience Southeast Alaska is to arrive slowly, set up camp, and let the surroundings do the talking.

Nestled among mature western red cedars and hemlock along the eastern shore of Lynn Canal, our 100-plus acres offer a rare combination — wilderness solitude with easy access to the cultural and outdoor heart of Haines.

Whether you're here to drift-fish the Chilkat River, track bears along the salmon runs, hike the trails around Mount Roberts, or simply sit on the water's edge and watch the light change over the Chilkat Valley — we'll have a site waiting for you.

World-class drift and fly fishing on the Chilkat and Chilkat River systems. King, sockeye, and chum salmon run June through September. Guides and gear rentals available in town.

Haines hosts one of the highest bald eagle concentrations in North America. Boat tours, kayaking excursions, and shoreline walks offer close encounters year-round.
